Rhinoaz Report post Posted yesterday at 02:06 AM I definitely recommend getting a can also. I have a few, with my tbac ultra 7 being my go to hunting can. I definitely recommend going to cancon (april 10-11 or the evt shoot 3/22 out at ben avery. Shoot them all and decide what works best for you. All of them say this and that about how great theirs is,but when you shoot them back to back you can decide for yourself. Also since your pretty much married to them, remember the buy once cry once moto. Good luck and you’ll won’t regret your decision about getting one.

I have thread ons, mostly because they only come off when I go to Canada or MX and it’s not that long of a job to spin them off, but if there’s a POI benefit I’d be all ears If can happen depending on the design of the can and how it vents. If you look at a cut away of some cans you will see that if you thread on and off a can it may not index exactly the same each time. It’s really noticeable on 22LR cans for sure. A QD system usually indexes at the same mount point each time hence more consistency
Couzer Report post Posted yesterday at 03:38 PM I didn't think they worked on Saturdays, but my buddy just got one approved this morning. Little less than 2 weeks. He also had one get approved in 2 days last month.
PRDATR Report post Posted yesterday at 06:57 PM Once you own one what is the process for selling it when you want to get rid of it down the road? Never seen that discussed before.

Unless something has changed the approval process is similar to the old timelines for new ones. One of the shops here has a couple used ones on consignment and said they have to be done on paper instead of the e-filing method so it's slower.

Not usually worth selling a used nfa item unless it’s a rare collectible or MG

Main reason being stacking tolerances. Fwiw, I move my direct thread cans amongst a bunch if my guns, and my poi does not change.
AzDiamondHeat Report post Posted 15 hours ago never had poi change on any rifle with any can. all mine are direct thread. probably not as convenient as the qd mount but i am never in a hurry swapping cans. only advice i would give other than get 3 is to get 30 cal. can use it on any rifle without having to worry.
Couzer Report post Posted 15 hours ago I need to check again on my chrono, but I think my can made my 25 creed shoot about 150 fps slower. Anyone else notice a reduction in speed with a can vs non can?

It’s always right on with my muzzle break. I don’t see how it could slow it down any.
