Suppressor Thoughts?

Recommended Posts

Appreciate everyone's opinion. After reading responses from page 1 I was going to hold off on getting one. After reading the whole thread I am going to do it. Anyone have any leads on direct thread on for a 300 win mag bolt and .308 AR -10. I am going to swap between rifles. I have the money ready to go but with 2 little kids and another one on the way I was hoping with tax stamp to be under $1,000. If anyone wants to shoot me some options or deals they find it would be appreciated.

I was on the fence a long time. Mostly against getting one. Then I bought my first one and after shooting it one time I ordered the 2nd one that night.

I will never not use a suppressor again.

Diligent defense enticer S. Buy a zilch adapter and plan b style adapters for each of your guns. It will come with 5/8-24 direct thread if you want to use that to start.

Can I ask why you would go with an S can? I have a couple K, S, and L cans and hands down my L cans outperform all the rest. I will second Diligent Defense though. They make lightweight, great cans.

Diligent defense makes the S and the L, the S is 6.75”, pretty much the standard length all around can. The L is 8.25”. It suppresses better but not leaps and bounds. I think the L cans are great if you have multiple, but if im recommending a “do all” can (most end up buying another after their first) I recommend the best suppression/weight/length can for the money. Carries nice and doesn't feel super long on longer barrels, suppresses awesome, cost a little less.

If I remember right somewhere I saw Diligent make a comment that between the L and S, both shooting supersonic, the difference to the ear is marginal. Im sure there are cases where this is biased one way or the other, thinking high volume mag cartridges the L shines a little better than the S maybe.

I'd look at the silencerco omega 300. It's direct thread and has an anchor break to help with recoil. Ot remove the brake and You can buy end caps for different calibers. Or easily go to using asr quick mount. It's a great al purpose 30 cal can

If you get the stainless version of the diligent defense enticer S or L they’re like $200 cheaper than the titanium versions, which only save you like a half pound.

I decided on the L version because suppression was my main focus. Length and weight aren’t a huge concern where I hunt, and I wanted my 300blk to be movie quite.

And just this past weekend I was swapping it between my 300blk, my 223 bolt gun and my 6.5cm. Shot probably a total of 100 rounds with no hearing protection and no ringing ears. About 40 rounds of that was through my 223 bolt gun. Even using the 30cal end cap it suppresses 223 and 6.5 great.

Using rearden plan B style mounts and the diligent defense Zilch mount. All purchased from East Valley Tactical

+1 on the omega. I was looking at that one then found the harvester evo on a closeout deal posted on here that I couldn’t pass up. Doesn’t look like the closeout deal is available anymore.

Rich, to answer your question and the easy way to aquire suppessor you will want to set up an account with silencer shops kiosk. I would highly recommend Healy Firearms, they have been great to deal with. It can be a little daunting at first but once you get it set up, the process is very simple. You will need most likely a trust and a ATF login and account. The guys at Healy can help out with this. I would make the phone call sooner than later to have them help you.

They discontinued it i believe. I also got one when they did the closeout. Think it was around 500 or so. I've been happy with it

Everything shared is basically correct. If you are happy with what you have, good for you, thats the goal.

I've worked in the NFA realm for 15ish years, owned nfa items even longer.

In my opinion, L cans are indeed quieter than S or Ks, however on my hunting rifles the extra length isn't worth it.  Especially if I'm putting it on a 24in or longer barrel.

I own too many suppressors to comfortably announce without feeling like I need an intervention. I own 2 of the Omega 300. They good cans, 10yr old technology,  heavy and not as quiet as the Diligent Defense Enticer S Ti. I own 3 Diligent defense cans, Wolf Hunter,  DTF S Ti and the Roadhunter, waiting for their new can, BBC-L 46cal and an enticer S Ti.

Otter Creek Labs is one of my favorite companies. They make great suppressors too.

I quit chasing the quietest cans.  A quality can that performs well, from a company that stands behind it when you screw it up is my requirement now.

Have you ever tried the Resilient Jolene S? I’ve heard great things about it. Haven’t heard too much about Resilient as a company. I guess no news is good news.

I use my wolfhunter on my 6 ARC.  It is great.

OCL is great. Love their return policy. Return Policy. Taken right off their website.

"If you are not satisfied with your purchase or purchased the wrong item by mistake, you can return the product and get a refund with a 10% restocking/processing fee applied if Otter Creek Labs sees fit depending on the situation and attitude of the customer.

We typically will not charge a 10% restocking fee unless you’re a dick. You can return a product for up to 15 days from the date you received it."
