There might be some big changes coming down the road regarding GOP/Trump full court press on the ATF and gun rights in general. It's possible we may see suppressors completely removed from the NFA in a year or two. That will save you $200 right there. Additionally, if suppressors are removed more will want to get in the game and w/o regulation, we may see a corresponding drop in prices. I remember them saying that when Bush was in office. Here we are 16+ years later and still waiting. Approvals are taking days or weeks now. There isn't a better time to buy one. The tax stamp sucks but if you can't afford the 200 dollar tax stamp than you probably shouldn't be spending the money on the suppressor either.

12 RING Report post Posted 20 hours ago 2 hours ago, richs4839 said: I was thinking about purchasing a suppressor for my hunting rifle (.300 win mag bolt) and for my ar-10 (.308) I was going to buy one that I can move from firearm to firearm. If drawn I hunt once a year for coues. I have three little kids so really dont have anytime to go shoot like i used to. Just looking for opinions. Is it worth spending $1000+ to maybe use once a year for the hunt? Really on the fence. I just see it sitting in the safe until my little ones are old enough to start shooting. When the little ones are old enough to shoot. There’s always a possibility you’ll be waiting 300+ days like I had to. Right now approval times are at an all time low. Take advantage of that opportunity and the opportunity to make shooting much more enjoyable for the youngsters when that time comes. Reduced recoil. Reduced decibels. And the cool factor or having a suppressor like they have in their video games. I got one for SHTF type scenarios and then realized the benefits on my ears. I’m 33 years young with some bad tinnitus mainly from hunts where I didn’t have time to pop earpro in. Everyone has had a situation like that and if they haven’t, they’re lying. I wish I could go back and protect my ears, maybe even pass on some opportunities I had. That time has gone, so now I have a suppressor on my .22lr so that when my little one is old enough to go shooting I know I have done everything possible to help him not have the problem I have. Shop around...mine ended up less than $1000 total and the approval process was very quick. What is "quick"? I've heard 3 months is fast and 8-12 months is expected

Get hub compatible and quick connect for point of impact consistency If you don’t mind me asking, what advantage in POI consistency does does quick connect give you? I have thread ons, mostly because they only come off when I go to Canada or MX and it’s not that long of a job to spin them off, but if there’s a POI benefit I’d be all ears

I've not seen any poi shift running 3 different cans on the same rifle . My direct thread cans come off there host rifles as they are 26 inch barrels and don't fit in cases or the safes with the cans on. Still no poi shift but those cans only go on the same rifles. With out the cans there is usually around a 1moa shift up or over.
