kmwellslv Report post Posted March 14, 2009 So im planning a trip to Lake Pleasant next weekend and wondering if anyone can give me their 2 cents. First off, it's not spring break is it? How quick do the full hookup sites fill up; ie if i get there friday eve will i be s.o.l. im comin from Tucson and i dont want to take Friday off if I dont have to. Ive never been there before so any tips would be helpful, ie. where to fish, what youre using, etc. Im hoping this post isnt considered "e-scoutin". thanks yall
elkaholic Report post Posted March 14, 2009 you shouldn't have any major problems - don't think spring break be an issue - as far as fishing - what are you looking to catch - stripers- bass - whites- crappies- cats ?? Most of the upper coves be the best places to start - as spring spawn is starting - topwater - early - work backs of coves and out to points - drop shotting is a good producer at pleasant - - best thing you can do is just get here and go fishing -- if you have an open seat for a few hrs - in a morning or evening -- give me a holler - pleasant is my usual hang out - when i had my boat running - Gary 602-993-2657

bullwidgeon Report post Posted March 15, 2009 If you have crappie lights for your boat, you can tie up to the giant tires around the marina. Start chunking with cut up chovies and mackeral strips, about 1 inch peices. The striper bite can get unreal. If you can get larger live bait like big shad or medium sized waterdogs and free line those out along with a few chunk poles you might really get some nicer sized stripers. You do have to keep lots of chunks or chum in the water to keep the fish around it seems like. We have had them right up behind the boat in the lights on wide open chew several times doing this in the past. Good luck. Bret M.
