IA Born Report post Posted February 8 If I ever rifle hunt javelina, it will be with my dad's AR that he got when I was in elementary school. 1980s Colt A1 style, just like he carried in Vietnam. Accurate has heck. My favorite rifle hunt that I've been on so far was when my son shot his 3rd javelina with my 1956 H&R M1 Garand. I thought I remember it being changed at one point, but wasn't sure. Funny story and not meaning to hi jack the thread but I had a guy run a lion with me and the game warden wanted to be along. They wanted me to shoot it with a .22 mag he had in his pack. I told him It wasn't legal and shot it with my ultra carry .45 that I always had in my truck back then.
