Any pipeline welders here moving on big jobs soon?

Recommended Posts

Decided I'm gonna go out of state on a pipeline job and I wanna get in as a welders helper.  One of my pest control customers is gonna get me in worst case scenario as a roustabout or laborer but I wanna get into the actual welding side of things. So if anyone is gonna be heading out on one of these big projects I'd love to get my foot in the door with someone whom is already gonna be on one of these jobs.  A couple of big ones coming up..

As far as me, I own a pest control company right now and have been a licensed contractor for the last 18 years and unlicesend another 8 years or so before that.  I know how to run a grinder obviously and I also possess that not so common, common sense.  Lots of references if needed.

Good luck bud...I did the pipeline thing for a few years and hated the traveling part.  Sorry, I wish I still had contacts in that field. I might .... I will check with one person that might be able to get me some info for you or still might have a connect.

You see a lot of country...   from the windshield. You had better like to travel.

I've welded a lot of pipe, but never on a pipeline. Industry was where I made my mark, mining mostly but some oilfield. A lot of travel there also. It took me to Anchorage where I helped set up rigs that were bound for Prudhoe Bay.

If you haven't already, check out Austin Ross. Good ol' boy from TX.

Speaking from experience, if you have a family make sure they are built for that kind of life. You will miss and lose things you can never get back. It sounds good with the money traveling pays, but it takes a toll.
