I know most don’t like cats

I'm very sorry for your loss.  I will proudly own that I love cats as much as dogs.  I was sitting in a meeting in Utah when my wife let me know our first cat we got together (first pet) passed over from illness. I was so thankful the room was dark because it took everything I had to hold it together.

We got a pair of cats as our first pets together. I didn’t hold it together at all when we lost each of them…it will be really bad when we lose the current one or the dog. I wouldn’t trade it though.

Sorry for the loss…I’ve always loved cats even though the current one is an asshole most of the time. It’s hard…

That's so much a part of why cats are so awesome.  Their asshole personalities are something to look up to most days!

I sobbed the hole drive home from Hurricane, UT to Flagstaff.  She was a 6-week old stray that had been dumped in the desert south of Tucson.  She had already figured out living on her own, but was so dang loving.  She'd crawl under the covers and sleep at my feet, and then bite my feet when she realized those were my feet touching her.  When the time comes with your current pets, I'll drive down and cry with you!  I ain't ashamed. Same to you, MuleDeer.  You've both been good me on here over the years.  I'll sit and cry with you both!

Not a cat guy do to my mother having so many. Butt cats have some killer personalities, and I mean killer. Like trophy said replace immediately. Heavy hurts for a lost friend.

We're definitely in the cat lover column

Got one that has to be pushing 20 years but he can still catch game and leave them at the door,  even with no teeth. I'm told they do that as an offering to bad hunters.

Sorry for your loss.

It is so hard when they leave.  I have never been much of a cat person but my wife is.  She has almost always had a Siamese (46 yr), except the last few years while we waited for the "inherited" rescue cats to pass.  They all lived a very long time.  I got attached to the last but have not missed the horrendous smell in the bathroom from the cat box and food.  We kept the food/box in there to keep the dogs out and the door had a cat door so the cat could come and go.  My little Britt is a pig and loves both the food and kitty treats.  I'm sure any house guests did a double take with that cat door in the bathroom door.  It has been not quite a year since the last cat and Momma wanted a Siamese.  She came across this beautiful male, older Siamese (7.5 yr) that an elderly lady was have to rehome.  We made the trip an hour up I-10 last week and picked him up.  He has cemented himself in our hearts.  Still a little skittish, he does not seem to suffer some of the psycho conditions some of the other cats have had.  Supper friendly, no biting, and pretty quiet so far.  While he is a great cat, I still prefer my Britts but he is great.
