  1. 1. Did you kill your buck on water in 2024 or 2025?

I’ve killed quite a few bucks spotting stock and I’ve killed a couple sitting water whatever the situation dictates

I think it’s time they look at hunting on water. Baiting is not allowed, and I can’t see how sitting a man made water catchment is any different. In fact, I think it’s more of a draw to the animals. Our game is hunted for months on end and when we are in a big time drought they can’t even water without being f-ed with. For the record I’ve sat water before…

Enough with the regulations and enough with the bureaucracy.

In the boquillas in unit 10 they don’t let you sit water and no trail cams before the ban, haven’t been there in a few years, does anybody seen improvement on the elk and deer herds?

They don't kill enough predators on the ranch. Herds would be amazing if they wiped out the coyotes and thinned the cats.

Them critters got all night to get water. I don’t think your theory pans out. I think most of the time animals water at night anyways. Slim chance they’re gonna hit water during the day.

I would disagree, they water all the time during the day. But I do believe the pressure will push them to night watering.

True.  I should clarify, during hunting season when people are racing side by sides from one water hole to another, I think most of the watering happens at night.

Laughable. How is sitting water any different then baiting? If you don’t think this is extremely effective, especially during drought, just watch dumb butt you tube videos. Lots of people killing animals on water.

I’d hunt bait if it was legal.  I’m upset they changed it. I have no moral problem with bait.  I’m out here trying to kill stuff so I can eat it, not see how difficult I can make my life. I killed my first bull on bait.

I also fish with worms.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but isn't the goal to fill the tag? Even with "lots of people killing animals on water", the stats show that many unit (archery elk for instance) success rates in the high 20 to 30%, with some much lower. That's not "lots"in my book.
