cactusjack Report post Posted January 29 No hunting 1/4 mile of a permanent water source. OTC archery deer tags, when you harvest a deer, you are put into a 2 or 3 year OTC timeout. You can still put in for draw tags and use your bow if you choose. People will think twice before shooting a dink.
wildwoody Report post Posted January 29 No they won't, but I like your thoughts.
cactusjack Report post Posted January 29 If shooting a dink puts you 2 or 3 years away from trying again it should.

CatfishKev Report post Posted January 29 I could see limiting waterholes that are few and far between but what about flowing creeks, rivers, ponds lakes etc? Not sure I like the idea of not being allowed to sit a waterhole but on mule deer units I could see them getting hammered.
OpticNerd Report post Posted January 29 Does anyone have the numbers on how many deer killed per by archery hunters vs rifle hunters?

Explorer Report post Posted 14 hours ago So how many times in your life have you ran into a warden in az? Me personally it has been 4 times in 45 years. Once was a hostile confrontation with 2 broke back mountain wardens on the verde river who unsuccessfully tried to disarm us. Second was a warden we almost had to force to stop. Third was the second broke back mountain warden from the first encounter who was real uncomfortable when he recognized me. And then last year when a hippy camped on a water hole I was hunting. So quota's are being inforced by who? There is not enough wardens to enforce anything. 1
CatfishKev Report post Posted 11 hours ago I don't think I have ever been stopped or checked by a warden while hunting. Only fishing. Only negative interaction I had was with a forest service guy named Ricky that thought baiting was illegal back when it still wasn't yet. He got all cocky with me and called game and fish and they told him what I already knew.
CatfishKev Report post Posted 11 hours ago Oh and the bait wasn't even mine but I guess he didn't believe me cuz I had a cam at this waterhole.
