Need Tripod Head Recommendation

Recommended Posts

My old Bass Pro Oculus finally gave out. It is coming apart everywhere. Was a great tripod for many years for $70. I decided to get the Silk 700 DX AMT. This came in at $129.00. I had a $200 DirecTV gift card that I needed to use. Just wondering if any one can recommend a pan head I can purchase online with gift card for less than $70. Can be one on the Silk website or any other website. Let me know. Thank you!

Sirui VA-5.   You can probably find a used one in your price range on Ebay but they are incredible quality for the price.  The new model is a lot more than $70.  I run one with a slik carbon fiber tripod and absolutely love it.

How does this one do for a shooting platform with 10-12 pound rifle?

I have an older VA5 with some miles on it.  Had an issue with the arm after knocking my tripod over.  Reached out to Suriu to see if I could order and pay for a part.  They sent me the part I needed and DYI instructions for FREE.  I was not expecting that.  Sharing the support experience for consideration.

100% on the link recommendation from MMACFIVE above.

I've used a Manfrotto for years. Love it.

This is a smaller fluid head that only holds up to about 6lbs I believe.. the same brand Avella does have a bigger fluid head that holds up to 13.2lbs, I bought that one this past year and threw my triclawps on it and have had no issues shooting from it.
