Fire Extinguishers

Recommended Posts

The cylinders are out dated according to their mfg date such that the govt. deems them to be unsafe and more likely to rupture?

Can they be refilled and tagged certified again?

I'm fairly unknowing on the subject.

Negative. They will not rupture. They are supposed to be hydro tested every 10 years. The process cost more than just replacing them. I have never seen one rupture.

That's what I wondered.

Same I believe for all tanks with pressurized gases used in welding/scuba/grills/soda dispensers, etc.

What is the amount or pressure used in fire extinguishers?

Which innert gas do they use to pressurize the tanks?

Sorry for all of the questions.
