Once I used a guide in Montana  - it wasn't a good experience, killed a bull when my guide was no where to be seen or heard from - had to walk up the hill to find him.

Used a guide for a drop camp (not to guide) in NM in the wilderness - even that was a shoot show- game me the wrong GPS pin, had to walk 12 extra miles in a day to find my stuff in the dark.. .

Have a lot of points in WY was thinking about using a guide when I pull the trigger on those points - not very easy to scout a state 1500 miles away

There’s not that many 350+ bulls out there on public land.  I would believe that several elk hunt units do not contain any 350 bulls.

if you say so...

I think selling spots is lame, especially to out of state hunters. Finding spots on your own is part of the fun.

You think most people have enough time to scout out of state hunts?

I think with all of the advantages we have with onX, g&f info, podcasts, YouTube, gear etc. it is very lame. I also don’t really care about how much time an out of state hunter has to scout or hunt. What do they want the deer to walk up to them and let them shoot it. If you don’t have time to scout hire a guide or show up when your hunt starts and start hunting.

That’s why they bought the fuckin scouting package. Pins to places where they can start their hunt and scout as they go.

How much?

Super cheap. Might as well blow up all three units, I’m trying to look out for the “hunter” that don’t have time to scout
