In search of English lab

Recommended Posts

Desert Lab Rescue had  some puppies recently.  Don’t know if English or American, but so many people buy labs not knowing their energy level and “busy, ” aka destructive nature, they end up surrenders.

We got  a “ 2 year  old” found dumped  in the desert west of Wickenburg last May, emaciated a s heck when we got him.  He’s all puppy still, but a great dog. I doubt he’s 2 even now., filled out, and still chewing stuff up.  My  sixth  lab , I’m either a slow learner or hooked on the breed.

We looked at Desert lab rescue. You have to jump through hoops with them, it's like they don't want you to rescue one. Labs do have a lot of energy I agree just like my heeler haha.

They do a thorough  job of vetting potential owners considering most of their dogs are surrenders.  We did the application in advance , and had no issues once approved. And we also have a psycho heeler to go with our wrecking machine, never a quiet moment it seems.

I'm glad it all worked out for you. We too went through the process and they told us no cause my front yard fence was 4ft high. They wanted me to rebuild it and make it 6ft. Even though the dog would be in the back yard most of the time.

That's weird.  I've worked for two Beagle rescues in the past.  They want good homes for the dogs, but a 6' high front fence?  Few people have any front fence.

That's what we thought as well. Shoot my heeler has never jumped the fence and he jumps into my truck with ease. Oh well I understand making sure they go to good homes I guess it just wasn't in the cards for us. We'll just keep looking.
