Prime example of the problem.   Complains about fraud, but doesn't want to do more than complain and make allegations.

They did it legally. Not sure what you want us to do.

Oregon gives bonus points for people who turn in poachers. This might be a better solution for crossbow abuse

LOL I could draw an early rifle tag in no time.

a Champ tag is just as easy to get as a crossbow permit, just need a doctors signature and $13... heck all you need is arthritis to get a champ tag, or a "burn injury"... just take a cigarette and burn your arm once...bingo! All this is gonna do is make a lot of crossbow hunters go back to doctor to get him/her to sign an additional form. Or go to a chiropractor to get it signed for "Spinal cord conditions"

I agree and I think game and fish hasn't thought this whole thing through. The CHAMP permits were intended to get people out that have severe disabilities and allow them to use crossbows and shoot from a vehicle, in addition to hunts specifically for CHAMP permit holders. I'm sure their are fair number of people that have injuries to their upper extremities that restricts them from using compound bows and therefore crossbow permits were issued, but the majority of them are still able to hike and don't need to shoot from a vehicle and are not eligible to apply for CHAMP hunts. If these crossbow permits go away, I'm sure the pool of CHAMP permit holders is going to explode, which sucks for those people with mobility issues that draw those hunts.

So if I am too drunk to get out of my truck while road hunting, does that qualify for a CHAMP permit?

  • Thanks 1
