Crossbow permit repeal

Prime example of the problem.   Complains about fraud, but doesn't want to do more than complain and make allegations.

I agree and I think game and fish hasn't thought this whole thing through. The CHAMP permits were intended to get people out that have severe disabilities and allow them to use crossbows and shoot from a vehicle, in addition to hunts specifically for CHAMP permit holders. I'm sure their are fair number of people that have injuries to their upper extremities that restricts them from using compound bows and therefore crossbow permits were issued, but the majority of them are still able to hike and don't need to shoot from a vehicle and are not eligible to apply for CHAMP hunts. If these crossbow permits go away, I'm sure the pool of CHAMP permit holders is going to explode, which sucks for those people with mobility issues that draw those hunts.

It makes sense for archery OTC deer, based on that data.

But sounds like a knee-jerk reaction to apply that same logic to archery elk and antelope tags that take 10-25 years to draw.  Especially when the harvest is limited by tag numbers already.  Sound like they should have just limited the OTC archery deer tags.

It would remove 10-20 percent of the applicants and increase the draw odds.

And some of us who have had to quit archery and except and fish.. Life is not fair. And alot of people do abuse anything they can. Good topic
