PhoneSkope Sells Your Info

Recommended Posts

I started using unique email addresses for any website/service I sign up for. I have been surprised how few online shops actually sell my info to others.

Except for Phone Skope. They sold my info to a company called Outdoor Edge. I am now getting emails sent to an email address that only Phone Skope had from Outdoor Edge.

I don’t know how many of you care about this sort of behavior, but it bothers me and I will not be using their products anymore.

How do you all feel about companies selling your info like this?

If the fact that their digiscoping adapters suck wasn’t enough to stop buying them, this should!  I actually can’t believe they’re still in business?

Yea their stuff is dated compared to all the new magnetic companies. I couldn’t stand their product. Pain in the butt to get on and off and would always move my scope.

Are you sure you didn't accidentally sign up for that though?  I know sometimes when you buy something online they have that little checkbox is it okay if we share your information or blah blah blah and a lot of times they have it checked and you have to uncheck it in order to not receive the solicitations.

Some sites just tell you they share your info and you can't opt out. Last year COX changed their email provider to Yahoo and ever since I have been slammed with about 10 spam emails a day.

I used to buy their stuff. I bought an adapter for my old spotter that didn't fit. They pretty much didn't care. I honed it out and polished it until it fit perfect. I sent it to them. No response. I started buying outdoorsmans adapters after that.

I am generally pretty cautious about that and fairly confident that did not happen here. It is possible that they have a check box that you have to uncheck buried somewhere on the order page. If it’s that hard to find though, it’s intentionally deceptive. That stuff shouldn’t be defaulted as opt-in if it’s for a 3rd party.
