Super excited for this one!! Going to sit on it 3-6 months and order a weatherby 307 in it if it’s looking promising. Haters and fudds will do what they do.

Reports I've read say that the casing is steel suggesting it's not reloadable and you'll be limited to factory ammunition? No thanks I'll keep my 28 Nosler.

I wish I hadn’t bought my 7prc. I bought it because I don’t reload and wanted accuracy and velocity out of factory loads. Hornady screwed the pooch with not being able to source RL26 powder. Given that, the 7 backcountry seems like it will be better in factory loads.

Most guys I come across have zero interest in reloading nor do they have the time. I get a lot of request for load development.
the testing I saw and talking with Manson Tools rep they are getting under 10 FPS deviation on factory ammo in test guns.
170 plus grain 7mm bullet going 3000 fps from a 20” barrel is a backpack hunters dream. I have not however looked at any accuracy tests yet.

Which is great..... until ammo is... wait for it.... unavailable.

They say it is reloadable but very hard to do. I guess rcbs is trying to make dies. That's a turn off for me but it does seem cool. If it takes off I can see regular calibers doing the same. This is like a .280, so I can see them do this in .308/.30-06, .270, .243, and so on.

Spomer's video showed single digit ES but with data from only 3 shots of one ammo.

The AllTerra video was not so rosey with higher ES and SD that equated to poorer long range accuracy.  (see the last half of the video.)

Sportsmans is showing the ammo prices for 7prc and 7bc being the same at $65 with the Terminal Ascent bullet.

The 7bc is using about 55gr powder, which would equate to about 10% less recoil than a 7prc with equal rifle and bullet weight and velocity.

We'll see how it shakes out when more factory ammo becomes available and is shot/analyzed.

The seven guys that backpack, shoot 5 lb rifles and don't reload are going to be super pumped about this. I predict this is obsolete in 2 years or less.

Just an FYI I shoot all heavy guns myself but most of the work I do is on super light 8 lb guns in magnum calibers for hunters here in AZ so from what I see it’s a large market.
The 28 Nosler I have for sale on here is 9 lbs and I have heard it’s over weight from several guys.

Most of the backpack guys i know are so OCD with their gear packing it, weighing it etc, would never shoot factory ammo. Not saying it won't happen, but that is niche at best.

Watch the ALLTERRA arm video to the end, they really shoot the rifle and the ammo has a 48 to 106 ES so its a 500 and under rifle with factory ammo. Also the primers are pushed way out of the primer pockets. All that pressure has to go somewhere and I will bet the bolts dont last long.

Just think if you get  a rifle that isnt head spaced tightly.
