Swaro NL Pures?

Recommended Posts

Why is everyone selling their brand new Pure's? I can understand selling a pair of EL's but what's going on with all the Pure's being sold that are almost brand new? I was thinking about buying a pair, but I'm getting worried.

If you respond to this, please try to make it informative and positive.

Swarovski came out with 12x42 RF binoculars a couple days ago. I’m sure that is the reason.

Only thing i can think the Nls are great glass but you're constantly focusing them from one range to another. In your field of view if you're looking at one hill and there is a taller hill behind in your field of view you have to re focus to see clearly were i dont remember doing that with the 15s or ELs. Hopefully that makes sense you would have to actually see for your self  . I have hade others tell me the same as well

IMHO I was informed by a few good sources the EL's will perform as well as the NL's and cost you less money. I bought some 12 EL's and used them in Mexico and was totally pleased with their performance. That and the fact that i can carry them in my bino buddy's easily and just mount them on a tripod when needed eliminates having to carry two pair of glass. In the end it is personal preference as always and a budget too. Good luck you can't go wrong either way with EL's or NL's, just up to you.

I can’t see the 12x42 RF being good for much personally.  I have had all of the big 3’s RF binos and can’t glass with them on a tripod for more than an hour or so without eye fatigue.  In my mind RF binos aren’t as much for finding game as they are just hand glassing and getting set up for a shot, so I personally have 8x42’s and wouldn’t want them any higher powered.  A non NL pure 12x with a 42mm objective is gonna have really small field of view and poor low light capability.  I’m honestly surprised anyone would be buying these, but diffeeent strokes for different folks

NL Pures are simply the finest binoculars made. They are simply spectacular. They are superior to ELs in nearly every way.

Most of the ones being sold are Pure 12's. People were mostly selling their 12's to buy 14's.

You will see more 12 NLs for sell now because of the new 12x42 RF ELs introduction.

I’ve run the 12x50 el’s and the 12x42 NL’s side by side and the color rendition of the NL’s is much much better.   That being said, I’ve run 15’s and 14’s side by side and I prefer the 15’s for sure.  I’ll actually be putting my 14’s up for sale as soon as I get back from MX.

That’s what I love about the EL’s. I rarely ever adjust the focus.

Having owned a bunch of ELs and SLC's, and now NLs,  I personally haven't noticed this phenomenon.  I feel the DOF is the same on the NLs

That’s a great point. I’ve for sure noticed this also. But, for me, I’ve found this to be a minor thing to do because once focused the image is just amazing.
