billrquimby Report post Posted March 15, 2009 Any body else collect? Yes. I have sample cartridges for all the Weatherby calibers ever made, and most of the big stuff (from .375 to .600) imbedded in two blocks of plastic. I also have many boxes of most known calibers from .22 rimfire to .300 Win Mag. I didn't set out to collect these last cartridges. I somehow wound up owning at least one rifle to go with each. 300RUM Report post Posted August 22, 2017 It is an interesting hobby. I have not actively collected for years and my collection is all backed away in boxes as I have nowhere to display it. The number of cartridges is around 600. Below is a photo of some of I dug out to show someone a few weeks ago. From left to right .300 Remington Ultra Mag As a scale 7.92 x 94 Patronen A German WWII era anti-tank rifle round .50 BMG 12.7 x 108 Soviet 14.5 x 114 Soviet The largest round I am aware of that has been used by a sniper .60 US Machine gun Developed at the end of WWII, the case is similar to 20 mm cannon rounds for gatling guns.

300RUM Report post Posted August 22, 2017 That is not so bad you just shuffle them over to make room for the new one. What sucks is when you bump the shelf and knock them all over. Then there are dilemmas like the .244 Remington and the 6 mm Remington, do you want both?

Kinda funny how they make the 50cal look "small"...
