Does anybody know where i could take these to get programmed thanks

Why do you have to program them?  I just turned mine on and set the channels and locked em and haven’t messed with them since?

You can usually get them programmed at a local radio shop or by someone who works with ham radios. If you're just setting basic channels, you might be able to do it yourself with the manual or Chirp software.

you can get the Chirp Software for free and the cable is fairly cheap

I must be missing a whole level of use on these that I don’t understand.  Mine are the Baofeng brand but look the same and same model number and I just turned them on and set a channel and they work really well.

The 888 are really simple:  a channel knob and a volume, but I understand you can re-program them and get into all kinds of trouble, also.  You can even get the police and fire channels.
