Ed67 Report post Posted Sunday at 07:50 PM Question for those with oleander experience. I have an oleander tree 8” trunk near my back patio. I intend to cut to ground level as removing the root ball isn’t an option. After cutting, if I drill and apply glyphosphate or any recommended fluid, will this kill the root ball? thanks, Ed

CatfishKev Report post Posted Sunday at 10:52 PM If you spray it with glyphosate all over the leaves it will kill it down to the roots which will make it brittle and much easier to remove in the future. That's what I would do

Premixed ready to use is always gonna more expensive. But of course if you don't have a use in the future go for pre mixed.
Sky Island junkie Report post Posted Monday at 12:59 AM Glyphosate won’t work this time of year as a foliar spray for oleander. Too cool and not actively growing but cutting it to ground level, drill and fill the holes with undiluted glyphosate will kill the stumps. Drill about 1” apart and half inch in from the outer edge of the trunk and a few holes more toward the center for good measure, fill the holes and you’ll kill the stump. This works for most anything
catclaw Report post Posted Monday at 01:24 AM I cut one down that was about 24" when I lived in down town Mesa. I waited a year and burned it. Created a crater 4 feet deep
catclaw Report post Posted Monday at 01:26 AM Typically you would use Tordon RTU to kill a tree. If you don't want to burn. You can use it on the stump
