bowhunt-R Report post Posted December 12 It was a great year for my two kiddos in NM. My 16 year old son had his first ever archery hunts for both deer and elk. He was able to harvest this bull that I called in to 24 yards on September 6th. The following weekend, he was able to make an awesome stalk on a group of 3 bucks and chose this buck out of the group. He pinwheeled him at 34 yards. Next, my 12 year old daughter was able to harvest this coues buck on her youth hunt in the sw corner of NM. My kids have been blessed this season!!!!! Looking forward to hunting season 2025. 5 2
stanley Report post Posted December 12 VERY AWESOME!!!! Very awesome for your kids and you to enjoy the special times together! New Mexico had some great youth hunting opportunities when my kids were young. My oldest got drawn for a unit 34 early 'any elk' hunt way back in 2007. He ended-up killing a decent 6X6. What a great hunt! (Had Amanda/founder along helping on that one, and we had a great time!) Thanks for sharing with the site! S.
