Kestrel

Recommended Posts

Vouple of my buddies and I are getting more interested in the long range game.  We were looking at the Revic and Sig Kilo8K Range Finders, which seem to give loads of pertinent ballistic information...but it seems the Kestrel does the same and also measures wind and other factors.  Also saves more cartidge profiles.  Is it better to pair a Kestrel with a less involved Range Finder, or go nuts on the Range Finder features??

Sorry if it's a dumb question...relatively new to this.  We are also looking gor revommendations on good shooting schools so we can learn from the best.  Not approaching this without getting educated.

I think a rangefinder with ballistic app is the best way to go. Having a Kestrel wind meter there will help. Using the Kestrel along with wind flags during your practice sessions is a must otherwise you may misinterpret the information in the field. The more instruments involved the more practice time you should spend using them. The monetary investment in these items is little compared the investment of time to utilize all your instruments.
