Anybody have beetles for euro mounts

Recommended Posts

The beetles clean the skulls up better I think. Ive done plenty of boiled european mounts which turn out pretty good but think the one that was done with beetles looks a little better

Maceration does a much better job than beetles!Photoroom-20240914_151222.thumb.png.a576b7550610bce83d095000f9eba606.pngPhotoRoom-20240128_124456.thumb.png.bddcea29d8d78e4bc024c639b553277f.pngPhotoRoom-20230825_141045.thumb.png.c5b58d9b82a60ca108f0b629b54677ef.pngPhotoroom-20241109_164630.thumb.png.12079bbf3301e6551e0a3671426c879e.pngPhotoroom-20241027_101627.thumb.png.4d3ddb45fa2d465634918ba4d8280650.png

If it’s just for a better job, I’d do maceration.

Id be interested in that too if anybody has a contact. After doing my last elk I think id rather have somebody else do it.

3 different non heated baths, no pressure washing. Comes out far superior than beetles.

I'm in the minority here, but I kind of prefer when the skull yellows over time instead of the pure, white bleached look.

Looks more natural to me.
