azdogman Report post Posted March 7, 2009 cool pics. You gotta love those bluffed up lions. I think i know that goose dog. We bought her and hunted her for a while but took her back. Congrats on the catch.
ChasinTail Report post Posted March 9, 2009 azdogman, If it is the same dog that you bought, hunted for a while and took her back, THANK YOU! She's caught more lions by herself than most people catch with a whole pack in a year. I can see how she wouldn't fit into some poeple's pack though....Thank goodness ours isn't one of them. azdogman, what kind of dogs do you run? Tyler
azdogman Report post Posted March 10, 2009 I got a little bit of everything in my pack. I bought a dog from the same guy you got goose from and i got a pup out of his bart dog and and another female out of his stuff. I framed his house for him in trade to work the pup till she was cranking. I have some dogs out of utah and some of my own trashy junk. lol No doubt that goose dog is bad to the bone but for the price my partner wanted a more open mouth dog to train pups better. ChasinTail Report post Posted March 10, 2009 Awesome, then you got some great dogs. We have Siren (Redtick with one eye) Goose the Leopard Cur, and Irene, a really small Bluetick, and we got a pup half brother to Siren, his name is Cash all from the same guy. The others are 2 redbones (copper and jess), and another redtick mix (named Cedar) that we're training. Tyler

ChasinTail Report post Posted April 12, 2009 In my opinion, it's the only way to hunt. The Garmin Astro system is awesome. The new DC-30 collars are pretty sweet, and the batteries last quite a while on one charge. The distance is pretty good, even in rough terrain. We do lose signal with the dogs on occasion, but only when they're trailing fast through deep canyons....other than that, they're a must have. Tyler
