For the record I would never vote to band any type of hunting. It’s alway your give in inch and they take a mile

Hopefully this gets rejected. I'm born and raised in AZ, but spent 15 years in Oregon in the military before moving back down here. I was there when Oregon passed this same type of law, banning the use of hounds for bear and lions. The results were devastating for the deer populations. The lion and bear populations exploded the next 10 years and the deer population plummeted. In addition, the amount of lion and bear encounters in rural areas increased significantly. Game and fish does an great job managing these populations and should continue what's working.

I didn't see anywhere in the December 6th commission agenda this being even mentioned.  I hate to admit it but the 17 page petition the CBD has sent to the AZGFD is a well written document.

I would never go on a hound hunt. But they serve a purpose. One of my favorite units has had reduced deer tag numbers over the years and is even an archery deer draw unit now. Over the last few years reduced tags and increased lion hunters has brought it back with some amazing deer numbers. Saw some hound hunters and big bucks this weekend and was able to fill a limited opportunity elk tag in 3 days of hunting. Hound hunters have been here for a hundred plus years. Tree huggers are only a generation behind me. Who is doing the most damage is obvious.

Whether you are fan or not of this style of hunting, this is one that ALL hunters and outdoorsman need to stick together on.

Some people are too stupid to see it, they aren’t trying to ban hound hunting, they are trying to ban ALL hunting. One little piece at a time until it’s all gone, we need to be smart enough to stand up against this sort of thing and speak up.
