Oh I'm sure you see so many hounds while glassing... Sounds like you need to find a more sporting way to hunt than sitting on your butt glassing then sniping unsuspecting animals. It's less effort than training and hiking behind hounds.

The problem isn't about it being fair chase or not.  The problem is that they are taking away one more little bit of our hunting privileges. And then they will go after the next low hanging fruit on the tree. And there will be a few that don't agree with that type of hunting so they will not have a problem with that being banned. And so on until they have all our hunting rights taken away. How fair is it to sit in a tree stand and shoot the first animal that unknowingly walks under you? Or doing a deer push? We are stressing the deer out and they are "scared for their lives". Should we ban them types of hunting also?

And there's plenty of people on this site that would happily give up scopes on muzzleloaders and plenty of other hunting restrictions. Hunters are our own worst enemies.

This whole conversation is crazy to me. I think you guys who are crying “fair chase” think that lions are an endangered species maybe because they haven’t seen one? If this ban goes through we probably won’t have to worry about our hunting rights being taken away. The game we hunt will disappear. This country is full of lions and when they aren’t controlled, the deer, elk, antelope,pigs etc. will be cleaned out! I’ve seen it happen in the area I live and hunt in. When the hounds men started working on them, the whitetail and javelina came back. Night and day!

Anti groups are all about reintroducing predators, banning the take of predators, method of take, etc.  Why you ask?  Think about it.

It’s the fairest chase of all.  95% of the time the critter gets away.  And the other 5%, you can make sure it’s a mature animal before you squeeze the trigger.

Every  thing  has its place . Running  dogs for lions may not be for some but that doesn't  mean it's not necessary.  A lion will kill once a week  to feed. Then there's  the kill because  they can and it amounts  to lots of game animals  outa the population.  Once a lion is in a area the deer ,elk tend to move . That would be enough  for me to have no problem  with  dogs . Even if a lion is not killed  they usually  are pushed out of areas where they can have a huge negative  impact . Just look at the 6a hunts . There was one lion spotted  during  the archery  hunt and then two more for 3 total . That's  150 less animals  a year for feeding  plus what they kill for fun .  Here's  a young elk kill from  the archery  hunt . It all adds up.
