IA Born Report post Posted Thursday at 02:58 AM Does anyone have any experience with Athlon scopes? I had a warranty issue on the Vortex that was on my daughter's 7mm-08 after she slipped and fell on our deer hunt. It was the Viper HS LR 4-16x50. Great scope. They can't repair it, so they are replacing it with a new Viper HD 5-25x50 VMR3 MOA. That's way too much scope for her 7mm-08, so I'm likely going to sell it and get her something that is more practical for her hunting with that rifle. She was good out to 500 with that Vortex HS LR. I'm looking at an Athlon Midas TAC 4-16x44 APRS2 FFP MIL scope through my pro deal, along with a similar Riton. They're both in the price point I'm looking at for this set up, once I sell the Vortex being sent to me (arrives this coming Tues). I love all my Riton scopes, but am wondering about Athlon. Does anyone here have any real world experience, especially chasing Coues, with any Athlon scopes?
CraigK Report post Posted Thursday at 03:37 AM I had a gen 1 Athlon midas BTR and hated to scope. The turrets were "mushy" and the parallax was near impossible to adjust at distances past 300 yards. I sent the scope in and they sent me a new gen 2. It is night and day difference and I actually really like the scope. I'm contemplating buying another one for my daughters rifle. Great scope for the money.
Curtis Reed Report post Posted Friday at 08:29 PM I have a Athlon Ares UHD G2 spotter. It’s a little heavy, but nice and compact and the glass punches way above its price. Not sure if I would trust one of their scopes on a hunting rifle, but for a spotter I hardly ever use i’m fine with it. I’d like to see more testing on the scopes to see if they track and hold zero reliably.

This one gets reviewed pretty favorably on rokslide, I’ll probably pick one up at some point

Based on Curtis Reed's comment above, does your scope track and hold zero reliably? I've heard and read good things about Athlon, so I appreciate your real world experience. Zeke-BE Report post Posted Saturday at 02:16 AM I have the cronus. Great glass and best bang for your buck. If your looking at a 500 dollar scope it compares to the 1,000 dollars scopes with other brands. Lots of reviews on you tube. But I don't know how the cheaper scopes compare
