BeardWonder62 Report post Posted November 26 I have a question about Howa 1500 rifle. I’m thinking about just buying the chassis. Never shot a Howa before just curious if anyone had a problem with them.
Hoss50 Report post Posted November 26 No problems. They shoot well typically.
dsotm Report post Posted November 26 Not as refined as something like a Tikka but both my mini and short action 1500s shoot great
matt Report post Posted November 26 Good and reliable. Not super smooth but you can work them in and get them much smoother.

loboscout Report post Posted November 26 Solid rifles. The trigger is really good. I have the mini and the 1500. At least one of their factory chassis is wonky to me.
Hucker Report post Posted November 27 I have a carbon in 6.5 PRC in the HS precision (factory) chassis. It is a shooter!

452b264 Report post Posted November 27 I have a SS 1500 308 win. that tears ragged holes in the target with factory ammo. I like the action, its very solid.
Ernesto C Report post Posted November 27 I have one in 6.5 Creed and loves the factory ammo Federal Premium Gold Medal Sierra Matchking in 140 grains. Also it shoots really good my reloads using the Hornady 140 grain ELD-MATCH.

PatrickJr Report post Posted November 29 Primarily used my weatherby vanguard for many years and it served me very well, it is essentially a LA Howa 1500 in a Weatherby chambering. I did replace the stock with a Mcmillan that is nice, Stockys should make a nice vertical gripped stock for a bit less money than Mcmillan. The trigger hasnt been touched and it has taught me to love a two stage. Rem 700 bases fit Howa 1500 actions. The bolt disassembly is also very easy on the Howas, can be field stripped in a matter of seconds. Can't argue with the integral recoil lug and ability to lock down the bolt with the 3 position safety. You do get alot in a small package and if you can get it to shoot, they're awesome rifles
