Willflow Report post Posted December 3 Well we saw 1 nice bull on Thanksgiving and kicked up a group on a hike but couldn't see if there were any bulls. I'm camped on the 211 road down south and just not seeing any aminals since Saturday. I've hiked around with my daughter but had to take her home for school. Thinking maybe I go north and or east. Do you have binoculars mounted on a tripod? Get up high and look look look. Your very best bet is the first 10 minutes of gray light. I mean like when you can’t see without binoculars. Just look for those yellow dots on open slopes feeding. Or on east facing canyon slopes. Then watch them cross to the north or west. You can then try to glass them up again in their beds or try to set up for the evening to catch them as they come back to feeding areas. If they don’t come back out, try to intercept them again in the morning. Start glassing, you’ll find elk. 1 Share this post Link to post Share on other sites

Tradman Report post Posted December 3 I hunted the unit mentioned opening day to Sunday evening. We were seeing bulls everyday. Majority of them were spikes and and a few that were slightly larger. Willflow Report post Posted December 12 Well I was not successful this time. I saw 1 nice bull on Thursday before the hunt with a small group and then a few cows during the hunt but no more bulls. I stayed down south in 5bs and saw fresh tracks and sign everyday but couldn't make it happen. I have never seen cows so scidish before. If they saw you from a ways off they took off every time. I think there had been alot of pressure in there before this hunt. I will not allow myself to be so under prepared again.
