Willflow Report post Posted Saturday at 12:39 AM I had fully intended to go camping and get some scouting in but life had other plans. I've never been in the until before. If anyone has any advice I'd greatly appreciate it. Thanks.

Willflow Report post Posted Saturday at 01:48 AM Believe me if it is in any way possible I will go up for a weekend however it's a big unit. Do I try north in the pines or south? I have a good Flatline map and I'm pretty good a reading it. I'm not asking for a honey hole, I never would I just don't know anything about this unit. I've seen 500+ elk In a dry Mormon lake but that's the wrong unit.

Roofer Billy Report post Posted Saturday at 02:26 AM Honestly I like right at the edge of the pines and where the junipers start mixing in. I've always hunted unit 9 or 8 and have had my best luck in the junipers in late season.

Tradman Report post Posted Saturday at 02:38 AM I'll be up in 5B as well. We've got the Hopi hunt tags. We filled our Hopi deer hunt tags opening day last week. Next up is the elk.

I've seen 500+ elk In a dry Mormon lake but that's the wrong unit. 5bs is loaded with elk and dispersed throughout . Use that flatline map and locate water sources near canyons. Get on vantage points looking south into top 1/3 of canyons with good pinyon or pine cover. Use that map to identify topo lines with benches with wider line spacing. Elk will be there. A lot of tags so elk will be moving around the unit a lot. Be patient and an opportunity will present itself. Good luck! 👊
