Dano562 Report post Posted November 9 I did alot of research when I was going to get one for my daughter I was going to do the rascal, I ended up waiting too long and bought her a full size gun. However on the other hand for my son he givin a cricket for free. I think it has alot of safety controls but personally I think its a POS.

Buds on-line or Western Drug or Sportsmans Sportsmans only showed lefty models . I was able to order from bass pro even though there discontinued and have it sent to the store at no charge. It's kinda a good option as I had to order youth / compact shotguns because nobody had any instock . It took about a week but no extra shipping or ffl charge. Big Tub Report post Posted November 11 Certainly, the XP or Target version are nicer, but my main point is that the extra weight for a small kid may be a bit much. The length of pull is pretty short. My 7 yr old grandson who is big for 7 could not hold it up but the length of pull is good. It is a classy little gun.
Crazymonkey Report post Posted November 11 Gotcha it's almost 6lbs all dressed out vs the 3 or so of the standard. I hadn't thought of it as a carry / hunting offhand gun but a bench or tripod training setup. Working the bolt ,saftey, and using a scope for target acquisition. It's been a long time since my daughter was that size. It goes fast as they grow like weeds.
cactusjack Report post Posted November 11 this is beat to death, but I have both the Cricket and multiple Rascals. The Rascal is way better for everything that has been mentioned. I have a couple of the Tactical ones suppressed. They even make Left Handed models. The only complaint is the cheek weld is too low for a scope, and it is a scope only rifle. I have raised it with a stick on foam cheek weld. Considering cutting the stock and putting in an adjustable kit. The one on the right didn't have the riser on it for this picture. The one on the left does.
