TAM Report post Posted February 26, 2009 "Holder said that putting the ban back in place would not only be a positive move by the United States, it would help cut down on the flow of guns going across the border into Mexico, which is struggling with heavy violence among drug cartels along the border." This is a total crock of BS!!! So now my rights will be stripped because Mexico can't get there chit together? What The Fudge??? The drug cartels are crooks and they don't care what the US laws are! How will this stop them? I'll tell you what it will do.... It will strip the guns from the American law abiding citizens. Once again we are getting punished for other peoples wrong doings! And to use Mexico as the scape goat!?!? I guess I missed the part in the Constitution that says "these rights shall not be infringed unless Mexico says so". That is nothing more than a chicken crap cop out!!!!

Coach Report post Posted February 26, 2009 +1 We need to make sure we get absolutely everybody in this country who believes in the 2nd Ammendment to band together and collectively tell Obama and Holder, "heck NO!". Join the NRA, send emails and letters, call your representatives. Please, do whatever you can to get people active in the fight against this. They will NOT provide a "sunset" provision this time - If we sit back and watch these rights get stripped away, they will be gone forever.

jackshoe Report post Posted February 26, 2009 What a crock-it's already illegal for citizens of old mexico to own a firearm. How can anyone with half of even one wit think that making something illegal will stop an outlaw from doing it? If guns are outlawed in the U.S. our citizenry will be in the same boat as the citizens of Mexico-at the mercy of outlaws who don't give a rats hiney about what is or isn't legal. The only people affected will be law abiding people-who no longer will have the tools to protect themselves.
KGAINES Report post Posted February 26, 2009 This was in 2003, not sure where it came from. I do notice how the percentage seems high for guns, but they just go by the guns used in a murder, go figure. The number one killer of the 2,442,923 Americans who died in 2003 was cardiovascular disease, which took 901,753 souls. Cancer was a distant second, at 554,643. Diabetes killed another 73,965. Those numbers, I think, are indicative of our aging population. Young people don’t generally die from those diseases, and when you’re old the likelihood that your death will be due to something else is pretty low. In 2003, 44,059 people were killed by motor vehicles - 26,963 more than the 17,096 people who were murdered (67.8% of which - 11,599 - were killed by guns). I think the number of gun homicides is interesting in light of the number of people killed by accidental falls (all falls, not just falls in the shower) - 16,926. And who knew that 2,766 people died from complications in surgery? Yikes!

And who knew that 2,766 people died from complications in surgery? Yikes! Seems like there are a lot of people being killed in auto accidents....... Lets ban cars! Perhaps we could lower the number of deaths from falls if we make some new laws on how many showers a person can take per week. Maybe regulate the type of surface that shower floors are made from. We could also mandate hand rails being installed in showers. We should demand that soap manufacturers develop new soap whith less slippery soap suds. I don't think we should be allowed to sing in the shower because it's to distracting. We could also mandate that people wear a saftey harness while in the shower. The logic behind this stuff is amazing. Are Americans really this stupid?

.270 Report post Posted February 26, 2009 tam, that will be next. the obamanation will get into limiting driving soon enough. nothing gives the American public more freedom than the internal combustion engine, and there is nothing the obamanation wants to do more than restrict freedom. through "carbon" footprint bs, taxes, "green" cars, etc., they'll restrict the heck outta being able to drive somewhere. the problem lies with the fact that there are so many people, a number rapidly approaching a majority, who just sit around and are happy as long as they have a tv and food and a couple 40's a day. they don't care what anyone else does or how anyone else's freedom, liberty and way of life is impacted. and the obamanation is happy to supply them with what little they need because they can carry a vote. i wanna slug every idiot i know that voted us into this mess. it's gonna get ugly. wetmule Report post Posted February 26, 2009 "It's gonna get Ugly" Lark, that is the understatement of the century. The loser left constantly complained about all the civil rights they were losing under Bush. I defy any loser left Bush hater to tell me exactly what rights they lost. With O'Bummernation the list will be very long. I'm right with you I wanna cold cock every single O'bummer voter.

az4life Report post Posted February 28, 2009 With the speed he is pushing things though it appears to me he is more concerned with passing his socialist agendas, rather than making things better for the country. Remember, If it is bad for the country, the libs are usually in favor of it and the country suffers. If it is good for the country, the libs are usually against it. With every passing day under Obamateur more legislation is signed in to push us closer to socialism.
