bowhunter-tw Report post Posted October 7 Anybody seen a primer do this? Looks like two little pin holes at the 5 and 7 oclock position where gas escaped past the primer. Heavy bolt lift and ejector mark at the 12 o clock
Mike S Report post Posted October 7 Winchester primers?
bowhunter-tw Report post Posted October 7 Yes, they seem to show some signs of exposure to moisture. Figured either they will go off or not. But would not see an increase in pressure

Mike S Report post Posted October 7 Winchester has gone back and forth with nickel plating since the 90's.  They had a run of bad ones a few years ago that pinholed.

The other loads of the same charge and primers did not show pressure signs.
Mike S Report post Posted October 7 Wouldn't think so, it's actually bleeding off pressure. That is still a pretty warm load, or soft brass based on the ejector swipe. Was it the same make case as the others? Maybe more powder in that one case? I'd back off on the charge weight. Did it pit the bolt face?

I will go back and double check, but should be same headstamp, dont think it pitted the bolt face, and I am using a frankford intellidropper, which has been pretty consistent. Maybe that case had more somehow.

I did, unfortunately I cant remember now if it errored on that one or velocity was inline with the others. All the loads that read were on par with one another
