MULEPACKHUNTER Report post Posted Sunday at 08:56 PM ya its all just what your wanting to get into, loading still saves a bunch on rifle rounds. I quit reloading some calibers since its not much savings to load them and not worth it. Id rather sit in my load room than watch tv so it keeps me busy for the 4 years waiting for a tag. We shoot pretty much every week so having all the tools is needed. If your curiosity gets to you can hit me up, I have everything to measure and find whats binding up on those cases

At times I want to quit, but for some reason I keep spending my money on it. Lol. Good thread and good persistence on this rifle. I enjoy it. Maybe not just this caliber for this rifle, lol. I got an 06 I’ll reload for and eventually a 7mm mag I see in my future. I’ll reload for other calibers, pistol too, down the road as well. This is my main deer rifle is why I was pushing for it.

Availability is still not good but better, hit and miss, been watching for sometime. I’ll still likely try some new brass though to see were I’m at. No doubt the factory loaded it under specs to accommodate all rifles. Was there any particular powder that you saw the 270 wsm liked? Appreciate all the help The Norma brass is $2 per piece and available and all you need are 50 pieces. You'll have 10 times better brass than factory ammo brass and you'll start with brass that will fit your chamber perfectly if you do your part in reloading it. Understanding how to set up your reloading dies is essential in reloading the WSM calibers. Powders that work well in the 270WSM with the 140-150 grain bullets are N570, Retumbo, N560, and H1000. The Berger elite hunter or any bullet with a tangent ogive will work best in the short fat cartridges. Don't shoot Hornady they can be difficult to tune. azsugarbear Report post Posted Wednesday at 02:22 AM I just picked up some ADG brass in 270 WSM. I can usually get 12-16 reloads on a single piece of brass before I begin to experience any problems.Once you fire them, but them in the shellhold and run them allthe way up. Then screw down the die until you meet resistance. Then lower the shellholder/brass a littleand screw down the die another full turn. That will usually result in a shoulder bump od 2 thous. Then test the resized case to make sure it chambers properly. Then load 'em up and have fun.

New brass is what my next step is.

New brass is what my next step is. If you're going to buy new brass invest in a Hornady headspace gauge to set your sizing die bump. Trying to set a .002" bump without it is not the best way. I would recommend .003-.004" bump. The Hornady gauge comes with several inserts so you can use it to set up your other caliber dies properly. Great investment. I'm currently on my 10th reloading and brass still looks great rifle/ammo shoots very accurate. BeardownAZ, did you turned/trimed in the brass neck like I suggested? No I have not turned any of the necks, don't have the equipment for that.

L Cazador Report post Posted 12 hours ago If you buy Norma brass you won't have to turn the necks. It's very accurate and consistent. I was amazed. You can also buy ADG brass at half a buck more, it's consistent as well. I agree with neck turning making a more consistent cartridge but if you spend the extra money for brass it's not a completely necessary thing. Plus one on Red Rabbits post. Raven Rocks Precision rocks with great prices and no tax and free shipping over $
