2018 Forerunner Roof Rack Recommendations

Birthday present for my son. He wants one he can attach his kayak to. He wants to start hunting ducks and figures toting the kayak along he could use that to retrieve them since his Blue Heeler isn't much of a water dog.

He might need to buy it where they can install it.

I heard good things about Wescott and also PakRax. Both locally made.  Check the generation 4Runner because I don't know if they do all of them.  A cheaper option might be Prinsu.   There are a couple stores called Rack Attack in the Valley that might have some options or advice too.  Cool present for your boy.

We went to Jalapeno Bucks for lunch today and talked about the links posted. He bought it a few months ago from a dealer and whoever owned it previously took off the factory rack before they traded it in. 

The dealer put silicon on the holes where the bolts were when he brought it back when he noticed water inside after the first rain. I'm leaning toward the PakRax. I took some pics of the roof and will go to Rack Attack and talk to them. They have some great reviews.

I went the LFD ruggedized roof bars route for my T4R.  Uses the factory rack…and less expensive.  Had my roof top tent up there until I got my Tacoma.
