What's the Best Way to Save on Ammo Shipping Costs?

I've been buying ammo online for a while now, and I’ve noticed shipping prices can really vary depending on the retailer. Sometimes, even a good deal on ammo can be offset by high shipping fees. For those of you who regularly buy in bulk or shop online, what’s been your experience with different retailers?

• Have you found any tricks to minimize shipping costs?
• Are there specific retailers or ammo directories that offer better deals on shipping?

During shortages I’ve used ammoseek to help find deals and availability…they include shipping in the listing so it’s easy to find the retailers with lower or free shipping costs.

Nowadays it's more who can ship you the ammo without damage. I buy from Midway when they have the ship free offer. Grafs, Natchez, and Precision reloading all offer either free shipping or a flat rate. The problem is most of them use flimsy boxes and little or no packing so you wind up with broken boxes and damaged ammo.

Find someone who can bulk buy at free shipping. Make freinds with an FFL with dealer status and buy enough to avoid shipping, usually 300.00 to 400.00 or more
