Reloading bench ideas

Recommended Posts

Lots of good ideas posted here. One thing I will add is that when I ended up building my own, I intentionally made it 37" high to the top of the bench. This allows me to either stand or sit (with a tall shop chair), while doing tasks at the bench. I found that to be helpful for me since I sometimes like to stand while trimming brass on a hand trimmer if it's just a small batch. As others have stated you will want something with a heavy top that is sturdy and won't wobble every time you resize a piece of brass.

I'm in this exact same dilemma and I really like the uline options. It's great that you can add drawers or cabinets or shelves to it. I'm not great with carpentry so I may go that route since I can't seem to find a used bench or desk up in Show Low to save my life

I ended up finding a bar height dinning room table on Facebook marketplace. It’s not a big table but it’s almost the same size as my workbench in the garage. It wasn’t as “heavy duty” as the seller said but the price was good and it’s not ugly. I’ll post some pictures when I can remember.

also loaded my first batch of ammo and went to Usery to do some testing. First group shot like .25”!

This was my old room. Sold the house two years ago and haven't got a new one fully done yet. The Craftsman bench is great for this. I now have the matching side cabinet too for extra storage.

recycled cabinets top and bottom, MDF top with T track installed plus custom quick change plate recessed in top, I can swap operations in seconds including presses. More labor than money in the bench its self. lots of storage. Behind this picture is a husky toolbox with similar set up for trimming and presses and all drawers filled with loose items. Still need to label drawer faces. Cant go without the old Coues calendar as well
