I think you’re vastly underestimating what showing up to the cave with a 400” would have got you in 38,000 bc.

Course I can’t imagine a Neanderthal passing on a 320 bull because he knows  that 400 will get him more likes on the cave wall

Killing big stuff has never not been cool. Guys that kill big stuff (legally) will always be better than guys that kill mediocre. It’s just how it is and how it’s always been. Dudes were trying to kill monsters in the 1950s. Some guys were trying to get meat. Nothing has changed, except there’s more money in it.

some guys relate to trophy hunters, some guys relate to meat hunters.

Yep nothing  wrong  with  a decent  rack . Prevents rack sag better known as tube sock titties!  We're born to chase big racks!

Reminds me of a find while hiking with GF in southern Utah a few weeks ago.  Some dude was apparently pretty proud of a big ol' ram, back in the day...  ;)

People have been been getting busted for flying illegally looking for big game for at least 30 years nothing new here. I bet it was a lot more prolific in the early 2000s than it is now. you couldn’t look up into the sky in elk country without seeing an ultralight in 2002.

not sure about drones

I remember paying a guy to fly unit 10 for the early bull rifle hunt in 1998.
