I would go with a single shot, they arre very affordable and can be used for right or left handed shooter

Harrington And Richardson / New England Firearms make a pretty decent rifle for the money. You can get into one with a nice scope for less than 5 bills. And they are universal as a singleshot.

With a little shopping you can have several guns with out a lot of money.

Muzzle loader, Pistols out the !, Rifles out the ! for $100.00 to $250.00 per barrel.
