(don’t know him from Adam) Working on cars myself it sounds like he’s not trying to rip you off but yet figure out what needs to be done before quoting repairs. It is a little costly, but with a 3.4 you do not loose power, like you would with a 22re swap. And the 3.4 is an amazing engine if its maintained. Is there anything special required for that swap? Crazymonkey Report post Posted September 5 Johnny is a good dude!! I've bought/ sold/ traded lots with him . Super knowledgeable on the car stuff. I'm sure there is some stuff that goes with a motor swap . The ecu and fuel injection stuff is probably different. Depending on milage it's just turning a wrench . I did my old 05 4runner in the garage when the passengers side head gasket started to leak . It was still a grand in parts and head work to put it back together. That year had stretch to torque head bolts that requires new bolts when removing.
