I don’t see any problem with not allowing walkers game ear type devices. Surely those of you that use them for ear protection can put some ear plugs in.  They should ban electronic calls also.

Man just read the rule and if this is what it means the banning of walker game ear definitely sucks for me. My daughter has unilateral deafness and i do not want to ever damage  her other ear and this is the best thing to have to protect her ear and still be able to have her fully hear me without worries. Tried many other things and for a 10 year old this was the best. The waker razor ones also have a smaller contour compared to normal head muffs. Will have to research more about this.

If they include electronic hearing protection we need to file a large scale lawsuit. I already have hearing damage and cannot do my job if it gets bad. This is a health and safety issue. Much safer to hunt if you can hear vs wearing plugs and not not hearing people signal to you like during bird season. I was personally shot twice by accident by a guy wearing ear plugs. Luckily it was #8 shot so only went into the surface of the skin. It also makes talking with someone esp during youth hunts more difficult. I frequently have to have new hunters I am with adjust or wait on shots. A ban would increase the risks for accidents. My MSA Sordins provide zero benefit in hearing game animals. 100% a safety device.

They should mean listening technologies that pickup sounds remotely. More like a trail camera but sounds not pics. Or like parabolic microphones which are designed to pickup sounds at long distances. I saw a video on these being used to locate wolves a few years ago.

Sadly, this is very true.

This is correct, if you harvest an animal and take it home and then process it at your house it is now illegal to go dump it on public or private property. You may do the gutless method on public or private and leave the remaining tissues or bones there. Rule was put in place for CWD purposes.

Wrong. Read the actual law.  It’s for carcasses brought from out of state

The hearing devices are for things like you see at football games where it amplifies sound.  There is new technology out there and they are getting ahead of the game.  It’s not for hearing aids or walker game ears

It’s for the parabolic microphones.  Not for hearing aids or walker headphones.    You’ll be fine.

Personally, I have never seen this used.  However, a friend had a 13B tag a few years ago and he said he saw guys using devices like what you are describing.  Technolgy is changing exponentially, and it seems some guys need every advantage they can get.  Kinda sad really.

Welp, I'm gonna continue to use the gutless method, use a radio for safety, and use my electronic muffs for hearing protection.

OK not breaking AZGFD laws just most littering and dumping laws.  Once you remove animals and take them to your house and then return the remaining carcass back to public land that would be considered illegal dumping.

It would have been better if AZG&F would have shown the actual  Reg with these new amendments tagged onto to it so they could get the big picture.

Get and keep a doctors note/diagnosis with you. Any officer who is willing to ticket a child for protecting there hearing that has a diagnosed disability probably needs to appear in court to argue that with a judge. I bet an ADA lawyer would make pretty tough to get a conviction or fine.

The Department considers listening and georeferencing technology to be in the prototype phase. To be effective, this technology will require a structured network grid of ‘listening’ or ‘acoustic stations’ to be installed on the ground and synced to GPS satellites for proper functioning. While acoustic location and GPS devices are available to the public, the ability to locate animals with the suggested technology still requires that the acoustic devices be physically retrieved from the field, audio files downloaded, cleaned, and then analyzed through manual or partially automated processes. The retrieval and analytical processes are not evolved to the state where files can be uplinked via satellites or through fully automated steps, though the technology is advancing in that direction. While the current technology does not allow for real-time or near-real-time transmission and analysis to locate an animal on the landscape, the Department recommends amending language in R12-4-303, Unlawful Devices, Methods, and Ammunition, to prohibit the use of audio/acoustic location devices for taking or aiding in the take of wildlife or locating wildlife for the purpose of taking or aiding in the take of wildlife.
