Because  the muzzleloaders running  smokeless  are only for use in the general  season  . Muzzleloader hunts require black powder  or black powder  substitute  only . No smokeless  unless  you want the illegal method  of take on your record if you get caught.

That being said, as someone who may not have the closed the deal on a big game animal, or two or three, without someone 1,000 yards back on the glasses and radio saying, "No, moron, he is behind the same tree he was when you left, not the tree you are looking at now..." I am not sure my current use is always consistent with the true sense of fair chase. Or, at least, they have made me lazy in some situations by relying too heavily on someone else over the radio to "walk me in." However, I will use them until its explicit that they are banned. AK doesn't allow them.

My hearing aids were like 5000 bucks, would the new rule mean I have to take them out when i hunt?

I think you’re correct.  Listening and communication are two different things.  I think it’s advanced “listening devices” like the Walkers Game Ear type devices.  We will see though.

Welp, I'm gonna continue to use the gutless method, use a radio for safety, and use my electronic muffs for hearing protection.

My buddy called GandF and they said radio use is not affected. I wonder who's idea it was to ban hearing devices. Tons of people use hearing aids to hear normally, which obviously can't be against the law, but they are able to turn them up, impossible to enforce sound level on them. I don't see hearing magnification as much of a help, but then again, I've never tried it. If you are in a tree stand you could hear something walking in a little earlier? Doesn't seem like that big of an advantage.

Thanks for posting and yeah I keep trying to understand the point of this one... Are people out there with those big satellite looking things they use on the sidelines - trying to hear deer snore?  Confused on this one.

I heard they are banning hearing aids now and glasses and contacts on the next go around.  Better go get Lasik and cochlear implants.

This is correct, if you harvest an animal and take it home and then process it at your house it is now illegal to go dump it on public or private property. You may do the gutless method on public or private and leave the remaining tissues or bones there. Rule was put in place for CWD purposes.

So what about my own trash can that the city picks up and takes to the dump? My property is essentially private property but where do we start splitting hairs here.

I honestly took this to mean that if you're going to do your processing in the field meaning breaking the animal farther down than just quartering and actually butchering it in camp to not leave the remnants out there...  

There always seems to be a pretty high level of ambiguity in these new rules.

It says put it in your trash receptacle to be taken to a commercial dump.
