Deer season opens tomorrow

Recommended Posts

At least here in Kodiak it does.  I'm thinking I'll fly to a spot after work and get a quick hunt in. It's light until 10pm at least. August bucks taste the best!

Had to work late .Air force showed up with 6 F22s. Fueling them and moving personnel took a while.

Didn't get out until 6.

Glassed the valley from several spots but only found bears. Didn't have time to hit the next drainage. Got back to the plane and there was another sow just below us. Decided to get out before we had to deal with a bear. Nice break though.

I live on Kodiak Island since 2019.

No, I live in town

I don't have any plans to go out until the 19th and chase goats which opens on the 20th. Same day flying applies to goats.

Last year I shot my bucks on the 19th after flying in and waited until the 20th to shoot my goats.

The mountain with deer was socked in most of my hunt. We did get a nice Billy though.

The goat meat is surprisingly good eating.
