Jmlopez6377 Report post Posted July 31 Do you still use a tent, a travel trailer/5th wheel, or are you on a bed role under the stars for your deer hunt? Have been doing the tent thing for years, mainly for the bug control in the desert. No camp fire, never cold enough. What is your usual camp sleep set up? Thank you in advance
Roosevelt Mark Report post Posted July 31 35 foot 5th wheel and a $1200 mattress. Done it all, but when you get older it's all about being comfortable and enjoying. For me at least. Trucks, camper shell, ground, tent, that was awesome time's and very effective and cost sufficient but I need more comfortable living.
Crazymonkey Report post Posted July 31 28ft travel trailer most of the time. Comfortable bed and a hot shower. I still do the tent and cot and sometimes just a sleeping bag in the truck bed but if I can take the trailer it's nice.
knothead Report post Posted July 31 Still doing the kodiak canvas tent thing. I have a nice setup that makes it very comfortable and works for my needs and budget.
thegunsmith2506 Report post Posted July 31 We gave up the rv camping about 10 years ago. Depending on the weather I will usually be in a hammock unless its really cold.
bigbuckfever Report post Posted July 31 I still do the tent thing. Never liked pulling a trailer and most of the places I hunt, the road will beat ya up getting in there, so forget about pulling a trailer. I would prefer a trailer but that's only when i can talk my brother into bringing his. I just upgraded my tent to what they call a 12 man tent, but it's just for me. i don't get much sleep trying to share a small sleeping space. It's not any harder to set up than my old 6 man tent that the zipper just gave out on.
ctafoya Report post Posted July 31 Toy hauler for me most of the time. I'll still tent it occasionally with cots. Too old to be on the ground.

dsotm Report post Posted July 31 Depends on the road, tent or popup trailer
eastvalleyjerry Report post Posted July 31 Depends on the weather, usually lay out a bed roll in the back of the truck for solo or quick trips, for hunts we have a new wall tent and bring cots. Done cheap hotels on some hunts too, nice having a hot shower at 3am
