Wtb single shot 410

Recommended Posts

Anyone have a little single shot 410 lying around? I’d like to get a little one to cut down and customize for my 4 year old.

I bought a youth 410 and it was terrible. My son liked the 20g much better. But some Walmarts have the New Englands for $125.

I have a little single shot 20 but he did not like shooting it.

If I still had the 410 I’d let you borrow it. I’d honestly say the 410 kicked harder than the 20. I also found reduced recoil 20g loads which made it that much better.

Some people might say that you're not thinking right by having a 4-year-old shoot a firearm;  however I say:🙂

#parentingdoneright..

My currently 9-year-old granddaughter killed her first Jack Rabbit at age 5 with her pink stocked, single shot Savage  "Rascal" 22 caliber rifle...🙂

I got my kids the mini mossberg .410 pump. Oldest is 5. Just put a red dot on it for him. Going to try and have him use the bog pod to shoot some dove this season.20240722_173355.thumb.jpg.d6a12a12ac7b47e8cb1cfd3ba2f32c38.jpg

Have they shot it yet? I also thought about going the 20ga reduce load route. He does really well with his BB gun as far as gun safety goes.

Has not shot it yet. Has shot his 22 since he was 3.

The plan is to put it into the bog pod death grip and just shoot birds at water. Hoping the tripod will take most of the recoil.

I have 20ga's for them but they are full size. This is the smallest .410 they make. A little bigger than the cricket 22.

I started my son with a .410 because I had the one I started hunting with. Ammo was expensive and hard to find. He was mostly hunting squirrels and even 3in #4 shot was marginal and he complained about recoil. For Christmas I bought him a semi auto 20ga and he loves it. Ammo is much cheaper with a ton of options and he says it kicks less. With the .410 he would stop shooting after about 10 rounds but now with the 20ga he will shoot 2 boxes with no problem. This is the one I bought him.
