Couescrazy33 Report post Posted July 29 Has not shot it yet. Has shot his 22 since he was 3. The plan is to put it into the bog pod death grip and just shoot birds at water. Hoping the tripod will take most of the recoil. I have 20ga's for them but they are full size. This is the smallest .410 they make. thegunsmith2506 Report post Posted July 29 I started my son with a .410 because I had the one I started hunting with. Ammo was expensive and hard to find. He was mostly hunting squirrels and even 3in #4 shot was marginal and he complained about recoil. For Christmas I bought him a semi auto 20ga and he loves it. Ammo is much cheaper with a ton of options and he says it kicks less. With the .410 he would stop shooting after about 10 rounds but now with the 20ga he will shoot 2 boxes with no problem.
