firstcoueswas80 Report post Posted July 27 I was all set up to get electronic, Bluetooth buds through insurance, but after an audiogram, $150 for foam molds, and a Dr signed RX, for some reason it has been denied by insurance. I have killed a lot of stuff with peltor muffs, but they are big and bulky and sometime get in the way of the cheek wield. What does everyone use, besides a supressor?

brent Report post Posted July 27 I just carry disposable foam peices in my pocket. I have always had time to quickly put them in.

I prefer something with electronic amplification. That way you can hear instructions from your partner before/after the shot.
Viper Report post Posted July 27 I have a set of Axil's. They work great at the range. Noise canceling, amplifying, Bluetooth to phone. They also have a wireless set. I intend to try them this season for hunting. https://goaxil.com/products/gx-extreme?variant=33887794561083&tw_source=google&tw_adid=646241365368&tw_campaign=19621004338&gad_source=1&gclid=Cj0KCQjwtZK1BhDuARIsAAy2Vzu34PqXemUfrGGufVoNekugVdfZJgpSnHIiKBZKrYUrwB76DhCUDMsaAmniEALw_wcB For hunting I usually have the plastic "hoop" type around my neck. https://www.amazon.com/Silicone-Reusable-Plugs-Protection-Construction/dp/B07R6NVPQN/ref=asc_df_B07R6NVPQN/?tag=hyprod-20&linkCode=df0&hvadid=692875362841&hvpos=&hvnetw=g&hvrand=17953808598233311843&hvpone=&hvptwo=&hvqmt=&hvdev=m&hvdvcmdl=&hvlocint=&hvlocphy=9030040&hvtargid=pla-2281435178338&psc=1&mcid=82e8f6adc9333a7cb954c7d3b2c01313&hvocijid=17953808598233311843-B07R6NVPQN-&hvexpln=73&gad_source=
Sky Island junkie Report post Posted July 28 I wear ear protection when out practicing but when hunting nothing unless I’m a bystander then just fingers in the ears. There are benefits to having F’d up hearing if you’re married 1

They kind of seem to good to be true. The ones I was supposed to get through insurance were like $2700. The Axils are like $200.

My son and I split the cost. They have worked well for pistol and rifle (with a brake), and at the range with others shooting. I would buy again, and consider the wireless. Siwash Report post Posted August 8 I have these in all my packs and use them religiously in any shooting situation. Most of my hunting partners are peasants with muzzle brakes and I'm not deaf yet: https://www.surefire.com/ep4-sonic-defenders-plus/

My hesitation is, my rifle already has a 26" barrel, it will be 34-35" with a supressor.
