BML Report post Posted February 13, 2009 There is another one of these trees in central/northern AZ. I have several arrows in that one, but I can't for the life of me remember where it is!!! It's been many years since I have been there. It looks exactly the same as this one too.

fletch953 Report post Posted February 13, 2009 The tradition since I moved here in 91 was to put an arrow in the tree if you tagged out. I have been to the bottom of that tree and found some really old arrows down there heck of a climb to get out.

singleshot Report post Posted February 13, 2009 I had a couple of arrows in it from 1987, then the top six feet broke off and took my arrows with it. Back then there wasn't very many, maybe 30, and we all thought it was cool.
Coach Report post Posted February 13, 2009 I've seen that tree many times - back in the day, you know, when arrows weren't $10 a pop I thought of sticking one in there. Now I just look at it as the sign that you're now in the middle of archery deer country.

AZ RANGER Report post Posted February 14, 2009 I have seen that one and the one on Mt. graham. I have never flung an arrow at either. Maybe someday, but it is hard to throw money away. I have heard that a lot of people stop there on the way to and from the 3d shoot at sunrise. if they live south anyways.
crazy4COUES Report post Posted February 14, 2009 The tradition since I moved here in 91 was to put an arrow in the tree if you tagged out. That is the same tradition I was told. I have an arrow in the tree for my Javelina harvest. It is one cool site to see. They have a framed photo of it in the Bear Wallow resturaunt in Alpine that is cool too.
