Decide what caliber you want to start with, and then you can build onward from there. Have fun. I do like the AR's flexibility, but I don't trust the polymer options for the upper or lower receiver, or buffer tube, etc. There is substantial evidence of problems and several of the sites are not clear as to what material their rifles are made of.
