Fernando23 Report post Posted July 4 I got drawn for a unit 1 deer tag and was wondering if anyone has had luck out there? I have the October rifle hunt and just wanted to know what I should be expecting weather and hunt wise. Any input or tips would be helpful!
idgaf Report post Posted July 4 Hunted unit 1 my entire adult life. Like every unit, it just depends on your skill, ability to scout, and level of luck. My brother had the tag last year and passed on multiple 160s class deer looking for a particular buck. He hunted every day of the season.
wildwoody Report post Posted July 4 You put in for it, get out there and learn. Lot more to hunting then killing. Good luck and welcome.
tontotom Report post Posted July 4 The weather can be from snowy to hot. Most likely 20's at night and 50's during the day. Unit 1 is huge so you'll have to pick an area and go scout. Deer are present in all elevations. The Wallow burn and pinion juniper areas can be great. Good luck
